O-I, the world's largest glass manufacturer, has developed a new twist on beer bottles. They've developed a bottle neck that is not only "ownable" for the MillerCoors brand, but also enhances the product through a better flow of beer, ease of pouring, and a better taste. It's the best new invention for the beer industry since the twist-off cap! It'll be interesting how other brands make use of the new internal molding technology. See the process and learn more about the new bottle inside the post.

"A cross-functional team of designers, engineers, and manufacturing, sales and marketing experts began developing moulds, producing samples for testing and quality requirements, and conducting trial fillings at MillerCoors breweries.
This makeover of the standard beer bottle, with its specially designed, spiraling pattern of embossed grooves inside the neck, is a marketplace differentiator that attracted consumers and enhanced the brand experience."
"Internal embossing creates a distinctive decoration inside the container while providing a smooth exterior for easy labeling. In some applications, consumers "discover" the internal design as the product is consumed.
Since the launch of the Vortex bottle, sales of Miller Lite's 12-ounce glass bottles have improved 6 share points. Additionally, the Miller Lite 12-ounce Vortex bottles have been awarded with a Glass Packaging Institute Clear Choice Award for the launch of this innovative new twist on beer packaging."
