Food packaging and weather balloons to sell a University? CEDIM is a progressive design school based in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2004 MENOSUNOCEROUNO was comissioned to launch a communication strategy to reach new students. While established Universities focused on prestige and tradition, our strategy looked into a clear direction: creativity.
Designed by brilliant Mexican studio Menosunocerouno
The agency excecuted the strategy in 3 steps:
1 — New Tag Line / Brand Promise : In contraste to tradition and prestige we came up with an open invitation to create: CEDIM — Welcome to the idea lab.
2 — Redesigned all admissions materials : We packaged a simple A4 grided brochure inside a metallic bag used for food packaging and send it trough direct mail.
3 — IDEA balloons : 7ft helio giant balloons usually used as weather devices, where printed with the word : IDEA, and placed around the city as guerrilla branding to create impact and curiosity.
Six years later the school has over a thousand students and the brand promise is the first thing you hear if you call the school today.
