Walking down the baking isle of the grocery store, I was struck by the Truvia brand sweetener packaging; simple, clean, and type driven. This no-calorie sweetener was developed jointly by Coca-Cola Co.  and Cargill Inc. and was designed by Pentragram.  It reflects an aesthetic many design companies are opting for these days: naked. This packaging design choice assumes that the consumer has a more sophisticated, clean palette. The red of strawberry makes the green and white stand out even more from the routine yellow, blue, and pink sweetener packaging. The green also emphasizes the sweetener’s origins from a plant called stevia, an herb grown in South America and Asia.

This is a much fresher look for sugar alternatives.
